E-Commerce refers to the buying and selling of goods and services via the Internet. It consists of four major areas:

  • E-retailing: Online retail sales of products and services.
  • Electronic Data Interchange (EDI): The computer-to-computer exchange of business documents in a standard electronic format.
  • Micro-marketing: Targeting specific groups of consumers with tailored marketing messages.
  • Internet Security: Measures taken to protect online transactions and customer data.
